On 31 July 2026, the Cultural Economics Division, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Culture, convened a meeting with Rights Cracker Co., Ltd. at the Ministry's Watthanatham Wisit Building in Bangkok. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Permanent Secretary Ms. Ranee Itharat, alongside officials from the Cultural Economics Division.
The discussion centered on exploring opportunities to integrate Thai cultural assets with globally recognized intellectual property — specifically Pokémon — to create new commercial value and expand market reach for Thai cultural products.
Thai Dress: A Contemporary Collaboration
Among the proposals discussed was the integration of traditional Thai dress — currently under consideration for inscription on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity — with Pokémon IP. The collaboration would bring Thai cultural identity into contemporary product design, appealing to both local consumers and international visitors.
CPOT: Reaching New Audiences
The meeting also explored development opportunities for CPOT (Cultural Product of Thailand) products through Pokémon's growing presence in Thailand — including the upcoming Pokémon Center BANGKOK and creative marketing activations — to help Thai cultural products connect with younger consumers and foreign tourists in meaningful new ways.
